In 2000, Fiona Divecha worked the front desk on the weekends at Riderwood, an Erickson Living retirement community in Silver Spring, MD, while she attended college. Now, 18 years later, she is a Resident Life Manager at Riderwood.
Over the past 18 years, Divecha has worked in General Services and Resident Life. Prior to becoming Resident Life Manager she was the Philanthropy Manager at Riderwood.
“I have spent many, many years working at Riderwood in various departments and that has allowed me to make so many lifelong friends along the way here,” said Divecha. “The staff and residents are like family to me. I love coming to work every day, working with the residents and hearing all their great stories. It’s heartwarming to know my team adds happiness to everyone living here.”
“In 2017 we promoted more than 100 employees,” said Beverly Jackson, Director of Human Resources, Riderwood. “We have many employees here at Riderwood who, like Fiona, either started working here as a student or in a different department and have been promoted through the years. We always want to attract, develop and retain employees here at Riderwood.”
There are approximately 1400+ full and part-time employees at Riderwood. Employee benefits include tuition reimbursement, 401K, paid time off, comprehensive medical benefits, on-site employee health and wellness centers, employee discount programs and much more.
Riderwood provides a vibrant lifestyle to seniors with abundant amenities, complemented with integrated healthcare and wellness.
“I have learned so much working for and with Fiona,” said Amy Hahn, Community Resources Lead Coordinator, Riderwood. “She started many groups at Riderwood along with creating and starting the many art galleries we have here at Riderwood. She has become a great mentor for me and I truly enjoy working with her every day.”
Divecha works with the more than 250 resident groups on campus allowing her to get to know the more than 2500 residents living at Riderwood.
“Riderwood is so much more to me than the place I go to work every day, “said Divecha. “I still keep in touch with my first Community Resource Manager who was a great mentor. The best benefit to working here is hearing all the great stories from residents. Working at Riderwood has been a huge part of my life and feels like home.”
When Divecha is not at Riderwood, she loves to bake, travel and spend time with her family. She resides in Silver Spring, MD.
