Robert Edward Hiner (Bob) passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baltimore after a two-year battle with leukemia. Bob was born July 2, 1943, in Johnstown, PA, to Edward and Violet Hiner. He grew up in Johnstown and Manns Choice, PA, and lived in New Jersey before moving to the Washington, DC, area. He was a resident of Beltsville, MD, for 43 years.
Bob retired from a 35-year career at Safeway in 1998 to enjoy his love of restoring classic cars and trucks as well as spending time with family. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Linda Hiner, daughters Kimberly Hiner (and husband James Borchelt) of Baltimore and Jaime Hiner of Beltsville, brother-in-law Larry Koenig (and wife Kathryn Koenig), extended family, and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; mother, Violet; and son Edward Anthony.
