Lions Clubs International Past District Governor (PDG) Bill Lynch addressed the club on 6 September. He reminded members of the Lions’ commitment to help others in need and reviewed the history of Lions Clubs International that started in 1917. Lynch highlighted area Lions projects including Lions Camp Merrick in Nanjemoy, MD, the Lions Community Outreach Foundation in Upper Marlboro, and the Lions Low Vision & Rehabilitation Center at the Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore.
The Club enjoyed the company of seven guests that evening. One guest, Suzie Mendelsohn, decided to join the club, raising membership to 37. Suzie will be inducted on 4 October.
The Lions plan to participate in the annual Fire Fest at the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department on 28 October. Look for us there.
