GREENBELT, MD - The City of Greenbelt is pleased to learn that the Senate Appropriations Committee has voted to retain $1.4 billion in funding for the new FBI headquarters in Greenbelt, Maryland. This action underscores the Committee’s support for relocating the FBI to a modern, secure, and strategically situated campus outside downtown Washington, D.C.

Greenbelt was selected by the Government Services Administration (GSA) as the best choice for the new headquarters, thanks to its exceptional accessibility, robust security, and proximity to other critical federal facilities. This vote reaffirms the integrity of the selection process and the determination that Greenbelt is the optimal location for this project.

Our city stands ready to partner with the federal government and the FBI to ensure the new headquarters is constructed efficiently and becomes an integral part of our community. We look forward to the economic growth and job opportunities this project will bring to Prince George’s County, and we are proud to contribute to strengthening our nation’s security.

We extend our gratitude to our Team Maryland representatives for their advocacy and leadership in advancing this critical initiative.
