Kick off the holiday season with a unique and fun show for the entire family. UpStage Artists will perform a live radio show production of It’s A Wonderful Life!
Now, what is a live radio show!? Actors will be on stage performing as if they were producing a 1950’s radio show. They will have scripts in their hands, play multiple roles on stage, and have live sound effects created by a foley artist (the person who creates sounds for performances) and it will be a wonderful, fun production.
So come on out to UpStage Artists performance on Saturday, December 7 at 7 pm to Emmanuel United Methodist Church. 11416 Cedar Lane, Beltsville, MD 20705.
It’s A Wonderful Life is the story of George Bailey, who has so many problems he is thinking about ending it all - and it's Christmas! As the angels discuss George, we see his life in flashback. As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence - who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years. George learns what a wonderful life truly is.
The members of UpStage Artists always say without community, there is no community theater. They strive to not only create theater that is accessible to all but to give back to the community in which they perform. In that spirit, this performance is a fundraiser for our food distribution ministry. During the performance, a free will offering will take place. You can give as much or as little as you see fit. If you’ve never been to a play before, here’s your opportunity to try one for free. Come on out, support a good cause, and have a good time!
