On Saturday, June 4th, Pack 1031 held their Pinewood Derby. We had an exciting time with fantastic cars! The winners of the Annual Pinewood Derby were First Place Tiger, Rowan M. The 2nd and 3rd place win were remarkably close with 9 heats that finally ended with Bear Scout Anya P. in 2nd Place and Webelos Ian K in 3rd Place! Excellent job scouts!! Many thanks to adults, Sean H and Christian S who ran our race and Jennifer K and Derek P who called the race results!

We are a family scouting unit. We learn outdoor skills, citizenship, STEM, nature and do service. 100% of our active scouts earned their rank this year! We always strive for over 85% to earn their rank but this year they did fantastic!!
We are still being cautious, we meet weekly (either virtually or in person in the outdoors), stay arm’s length apart and we keep it fun! This fall we hope to be able to meet in the Beltsville Academy. If the numbers are up, we do wear masks unless we are biking or hiking in family groups. Our den leaders are 100% vaccinated and our scouts too!
