Holy Week Schedules for Local Churches

For many churches in our area. this week (March 28-April 4) is Holy Week. Like last year, the pandemic has forced churches to get creative in order to celebrate this special time in the life of the church. Below is information that local churches provided us so that you may attend a service if you wish.

HOLY THURSDAY, April 1

9:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer

7:00 p.m. – Mass of the Lord’s Supper* followed by Adoration until 10:00 p.m.in the Multi-Purpose Room

We commemorate the Last Supper and with it the institution

of the Eucharist and the Ordained Priesthood.

GOOD FRIDAY, April 2

9:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer

3:00 p.m. – Stations of the Cross

7:00 p.m. – Solemn Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion*

Today we remember Jesus’ final hours on earth. He is interrogated, scourged

and carries His cross to Calvary. There, He is nailed to the cross and dies.

His body is taken from the cross and laid in the tomb.

HOLY SATURDAY, April 3

8:15 a.m. – Morning Prayer

10:00 a.m. – Blessing of the Easter Baskets

8:00 p.m. – Solemn Easter Vigil*

The Easter Vigil begins with the Liturgy of Light. The church is darkened

and a fire is prepared outside where the Paschal Candle is lighted

and carried inside, representing Jesus as the Light of the World.

EASTER SUNDAY, April 4

Masses* at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
