Moving into Fall with Cub Pack 1031 Annual Regatta

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

Scouts with their balloon “motorboats” getting ready to launch it down the rain gutter

We held our Annual Raingutter Regatta in the end of August and the scouts had fun building and designing their pool noodle boat. Some put a balloon connected to a straw to their boat, inflated the balloon with a balloon pump and “motored” their way down the gutter. Others used a sail on their boat and used a small battery fan to propel it down. It is always fun and innovative!

We are moving in to fall and look forward to our Join Scouting event on September 18th and our Fall Trail cleanup on October 2nd at the Beltsville Neighborhood Park 11540 Montgomery Road at the north end and left into the park.

If you are interested in discovering the fun of Cub Scouts, our cost this year will be $130 per scout. We are a family scouting unit. We hike, bike, go interesting places and learn about nature and do service. 95% of our scouts earned their rank this year! We are still being cautious with our scouts, we meet weekly (either virtually or in person based on the COVID numbers), stay arm’s length apart and wear our masks and we keep it fun! Our active den leaders are 100% vaccinated. Please contact Regina Halper at Pack1031cubscouting@gmail.com for more information.
