Slow Down! We do not live in or on the Indy 500 Race Track. Ask yourself: Is arriving at your destination 1 minute, 5 minutes earlier more important than someone's life? Spring is here along with warmer weather. People are out for walks and bike rides, especially children. The speed limit on most streets in the Beltsville Community is between 25 -30 miles per hour. Passing the driver in front of you is not allowed on solid yellow or white lines. You are also supposed to stop for School buses when they are letting children off. The school bus will have a red stop sign down while children are getting off the bus. Stop signs and flashing red lights really mean STOP!

In recent years we have seen an increase in accidents at the four way stop at Sellman and Montgomery Roads. In the near future, the new temporary fire station will open at that intersection. Any and all accidents at that intersection may impact response times for fire and ambulance calls. Unfortunately, no information has been shared with the community on the layout and exit plan for fire and ambulance apparatus.
