Vicino, Dominic Joseph

On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Dominic Joseph Vicino passed away peacefully at age 102 in Hollywood, Florida, where he resided since 2016. He was born on September 28, 1918 in the District of Columbia. The son of Italian immigrants, he was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Josephine (Foresta) and sister Elizabeth Lucy. He was the beloved husband of the

late Mary Agnes (Loraditch). A veteran of the Second World War, he proudly served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Black Hawk as Torpedoman’s Mate, First Class. A graduate of Eastern High School and George Washington University, he had a successful career as a pharmacist. A longtime resident of Beltsville, Maryland since 1951, he was a caring and engaged

member of his community, dedicating decades of service to the American Legion; the Antonio Gatto Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy in America; the Prince George’s Council of the Knights of Columbus as a 4th degree honorary lifetime member; and St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Beltsville. An avid reader, stamp collector, and world traveler, he instilled a deep appreciation of history to many friends and family. He was the loving father of seven children: Lawrence, Lorraine, Janet, David, Paul, John, and Thomas. He is survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by many cousins across the United States and Brazil. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be mailed to: 1539 Mayo Street, Hollywood, FL 33020.
