Hello Beltsville!
When we began producing shows back in 2019—pre-COVID, remember those days?—we weren’t sure what kind of reception to expect. Over the years, Beltsville had seen very little community theater right here in town. There was the Prince George’s Summer Teen Theater, which ran at High Point for over 50 years, and another effort with the Theater Project at Abiding Presence Church around 2013 that lasted a few years. But a long-standing community theater, open to all ages and demographics, had yet to take root. We knew we were venturing into untested waters.
Seven years later, we’re still here—and we’ve just produced our 20th production! None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of the Beltsville community, Emmanuel United Methodist Church, the Prince George’s Community Federal Credit Union, and the many actors, craftsmen, and volunteers who have dedicated their time and talent to our company.
November is a month to reflect on what we’re thankful for, and at UpStage Artists, we are truly thankful for you—the community of Beltsville! We look forward to seeing you in the new year with an all-new lineup of shows!
