The Beltsville Young At Heart Club June 2025

Our April meeting was a challenge for us. The meeting was changed from our usual third Thursday to the fourth Thursday due to the Community Center refinishing their floors. Then we had some members absent-two for traveling, one for surgery, and a couple we did not know about. We did “carried on” with who and what we had but played bingo instead of a speaker or entertainment.

We have hopes that our May 15 meeting will be more “as usual”, with trips, refreshments, 50/50 and a raffle.

Our June 19 will be an inside picnic with members bringing food to share. Call Lois if you need to let her know what you can bring. We will not have entertainment or speakers or a raffle. But we will have trip sign-up, 50/50, and planning for the coming months; and of course, good conversation and fellowship. We do NOT have a meeting in July because the Community Center uses our room for their “kids’ camp”.

Will meet again on August 21 with a singer or speaker about scams that deal with seniors.

We still meet at the Beltsville Community Center at 3900 Sellman Road. We start the business part of the meeting at 10:30 am but come before that time so you have some refreshments, sign up for a trip, get a chance at 50/50 and take a chance at our raffle. We usually finish about noon after we clean up the room. If you need more information, call Lois Hamilton at 301-498-9736, and find out what you are missing. “How deeply seated is the human heart is the liking for gardens and gardening.” V. Garderan
