Our next two monthly meetings should be very interesting. Besides our usual refreshments, ways and means table, 50/50 chance and trips to sign up for (bring a check), we will be having speakers. On October 17, we’ll have the ROSIE THE RIVETER group come and tell us about their amazing jobs during World War II when they took over jobs so that the men could go and fight in the war. I know these ladies and their amazing stories. You'll love to listen and learn.
On November 21, we will have a speaker talk to us about dementia and Alzheimers. What to look for, how to do care giving, and any other questions our members may have to ask them. These are 2 diseases that medical science has little explanations to give us, but I also know that as we age, we may need these answers and resources. Bring a friend or relative that you think may be interested in these subjects.
We meet on the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 am at the Beltsville Community Center, 3900 Sellman Road. We usually end before noon. If you have any questions, please call me (Lois Hamilton) at 301-498-9736; leave a message and I’ll get back to you. Our seniors are very friendly and worthy to know.
