UpStage Artists, Beltsville’s local community theater, donated $350 to Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS) a local nonprofit organization that aims to serve “homeless and low-income families and individuals in Central Maryland.” LARS was founded in 1987 by a group of community members and congregational leaders who were looking to consolidate services for those who came to their doors looking for help. According to their website, LARS currently “boasts a team of certified case managers, social workers, nonprofit professionals and volunteers to support our neighbors who need compassion, kindness and care.”

LARS is located at 311 Laurel Ave in Laurel. They help those in need through a variety of services. You can learn more about them at their website https://www.laureladvocacy.org/.
