    St. Gregory's Annual Slavic Food Festival

    It's time again for St. Gregory's annual Slavic Food Festival, Bake Sale and Raffle which will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 12420 Old Gunpowder Road Spur in Beltsville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured will be Eastern European foods including pirohi, holupki, halushki and kolbassi with sauerkraut. All food will be available for eat in or carry out. Our bake sale will offer Kolachi and a wide variety of homemade goodies. Admission and parking are free. For details ca

    The other day I had a special lunch. In the store here at Riderwood they sell convenience items like milk, bread, snacks, etc. I picked up two items, a small can of Armour Potted Meat and V8 juice, and made lunch out of them. It struck me well that both products are exactly the same as they were 70 years ago; they look the same and taste the same as I remember.
