Pack 1031’s Fun in the Summer Heat Along Little Paint Branch Trail

Scouts Looking for fish in the Little Paint Branch River

Cub Pack 1031 scouts are continuing their fun in the outdoors! We launched our paper stomp rockets on June 26th and had lots of fun! Four of our scouts attended Cub Scout Day camp in Bowie Maryland. Four families attended the Annual Baysox Scout Night and got soaking wet, but had a good time. On Monday July 10th, we hiked along Little Paint Branch Trail identifying trees and looking for plants and animals. We saw two deer, squirrels, small fish in the creek and birds. We also collected any trash we found along the path. We found many dropped tissues and bottles along the trail – and labels off water bottles. The pack is doing Spring/Summer recruiting so new scouts can earn outdoor requirements as we hike, bike and do outdoor activities all summer long. Contact us through BeAScout.org. On Saturday, August 19th, (this is a correction of the date) we will be doing a cleanup/beautification project at Beltsville Academy before school starts in September. We will out there from 9 AM-12 PM. Consider joining us! Each year the pack has activities such as camping, hiking, our annual Pinewood Derby and campfires all year long. We also do participatory citizenship along Little Paint Branch Trail, our toy drive and Scouting for Food. Along the way we learn responsibility, play games, and have tons of fun. If you interested in discovering the fun of Cub Scouts with your son please contact Regina Halper through www.BeAScout.org -- just put in our zip code and look for Cub Pack 1031. You can now register online but additional dues will be collected for the book, advancements, neckerchief and pack fees including space rental and leader training.
