TJ's of Calverton to Change Ownership

Former owners of TJ’s of Calverton, Tim and Karen Murray with new owners, Guillermo and Rosa Bustamante

On January 1, 1985, we bought the former Pappy's, then Rino's pizza restaurant in the Calverton Shopping Center. We took 3 months to gut and remodel the entire dining room by adding a balcony, new furnishings, and a new menu. I distinctly remember my father saying to my mom, "They're going to lose everything and move in with us!" Well, thankfully we stayed in business all these years, raised our children, and made it through all the ups and downs of the industry, economy, and whatever else life threw at us. We truly feel we were able to manage all these years thanks to the wonderful folks who have been our loyal, dedicated customers.

Now it is time for the new owners, Guillermo and Rosa Bustamante, to have the opportunity to continue to serve our customers and take what was our dream and make it their dream. As residents of Calverton, they share our desire to provide excellent, friendly service and TJ's delicious food. You can continue to enjoy your favorite dish and see the same smiling faces waiting to serve you. Together, they bring many years of experience in the restaurant and customer service industry.

It seems inadequate to simply give our deepest gratitude for the support you have shown us since 1985. But, that thanks comes from our heart, and we thank you all. You have allowed us to help celebrate birthdays and happy occasions, say sad goodbyes, and make some very dear friends. Thank you for feeling so comfortable with us that you often visited every day and shared your world with us. We cannot say our goodbye without acknowledging all the outstanding, loyal employees who enabled us to open our doors each day. We are proud to have employed, trained, and worked with so many talented, local individuals. We sincerely hope you will continue to visit TJ's and support the familiar and new faces at TJ's.
