Obituary: Warren "Buddy" Chilcoate

It is with sadness that we announce that Warren “Buddy” “Chile” Chilcoate passed away unexpectedly at home on May 4, 2019, at the age of 68. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Case Chilcoate, his children (with his first wife, Donna Cavey Chilcoate), Patricia (Patti) Chilcoate Gardner, Shannon Chilcoate Singleton, Corey Chilcoate, and brother Carl “Buster” Chilcoate. He is preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Chilcoate, Jr.; his mother, Catherine Janet Thompson Chilcoate; and brothers William Joseph Chilcoate III (Billy) and Robert Thomas Chilcoate (Bobby) all of Beltsville, MD.

Buddy was born on January 12, 1951, in Prince George’s County, MD, to William Joseph Chilcoate, Jr., and Catherine Janet Thompson Chilcoate. He attended High Point High School and graduated in 1969. While in high school, he began volunteering at Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department (Station 31), where he remained a life member. After graduating high school, he began his career in the telecommunications industry beginning with telephone installation and repair, moving to telephone system service, and ending with managing the system installation crews that he was a part of for so many years.

Later in life, he retired to the Eastern Shore of MD where he found joy in being close to the water. He married Jeannie shortly after, on June 4, 2005. He loved to build and create, work with his hands, and had a passion for gardening. He was a wonderful husband and father, a loyal brother, uncle, and friend, a brave firefighter, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He is fondly remembered as hard-working, strong, and loving.
