The USDA National Agricultural Library is celebrating the 75th birthday of Smokey Bear with a series of vintage films featuring Smokey and his fire prevention message. Show times will be at 1:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month from August to December.The Library will also feature exhibits of Smokey Bear memorabilia in its main lobby. All are welcome! Smokey Bear was created on Aug. 9, 1944, as the USDA Forest Service’s symbol of fire prevention on, and has been beloved by generations since. The National Agricultural Library is located at 10301 Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville. There is ample public parking.
