Beltsville Young at Heart-September 2022

By Lois Hamilton

It will be so nice to see and talk to everyone at our September 15 meeting at the Beltsville Community Center. We have so much to discuss. Plans for the October 20 potluck, our November 17 Thanksgiving Gala in Laurel and voting to change some of our By-

Laws.

Please come and sign up for upcoming events and renew friendships. The duo “Dan & Cheryl” will be our entertainment in Sept. and Carol K. will have “goodies” to enjoy eating.

Sign up for future trips, take a chance on 50/50, and see what we have on our “free” table and Ways & Means table. Remember, we start at 11:00 am. and usually end by 1:00 pm.

See you in September. Remember, life is better when you’re laughing.

Local Artist Ellen Baer’s Art Exhibition

Beltsville artist, Ellen Baer, is having a solo exhibit from September 14th through January 6th at the Hill Center at the Old Navel yard in Washington DC. The exhibit features Baer's paintings, the "Circle Series," which uses circles as a vehicle to explore color interactions.

Some of the paintings use contrasting overlapping colors to create a sensation of sparkling light while others use subtle changes in color which reflect upon nature.

The opening reception is on September 14th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. RSVP at https://www.hillcenterdc.org/event/fall-solo-exhibitions-opening-reception/.
