Our last trip of the year was fantastic. We went to the American Music Theater to see “The Joys of Christmas.” The music, costumes, seats and the entire program were outstanding. Thank you goes out to Shirley Denell. The meal at the “Bird in Hand” restaurant was delicious, too.
Our last meeting of 2024 will be December 19 at 10:30 am. at the Beltsville Community Center, 3900 Sellman Road. We’ll have a group to entertain us with some of our favorite Christmas Carols. Of course, we’ll have our usual 50/50 chances, light refreshments, the ways and means table, as well as some “freebies” to be taken. There are no trips to sign up for until next year. The buses do not like to schedule in January or February due to the possible inclement weather, so we’ll see what comes up in March or April.
I have our favorite Johnny Seaton coming in January 2025. If you know of anyone, whether they live in Beltsville or not, please invite them or tell them about our club. I’d like to see more people from Greenbelt, College Park, Calverton, and even outside Prince Georges county, to come and meet us. The only requirements are that you be at least 55 years old and willing to meet new people. I try to advertise our group in the Beltsville News and the Laurel Independent, but I’m not sure about community newspapers in other towns. Please let me know.
If you have questions, I can be contacted at 301-498-9736. Thank you. “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched—they must be felt with the heart.” Helen Keller
