Our September meeting was both enjoyable and informative, featuring a presentation by a Prince George’s County police officer on the topic of scams. The discussion was so helpful that we hope to have him back next year for even more information and questions. Special thanks to Councilmember Tom Dernoga for arranging his visit.
A big thank you as well to our volunteer member, Maria Halle, who did a wonderful job coordinating the program and making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
Looking ahead, our music lineup is set with Steve Flynn and a lively country/bluegrass group scheduled to perform in September and October. In November, we’ll celebrate the Club’s 69th Anniversary with a potluck and cake—please bring a dish to share! December will bring festive fun with “Santa Bingo,” complete with prizes.
As we plan ahead for 2026, I welcome your ideas for guest speakers and entertainers. After all, as Tennyson reminds us, “A wise person doesn’t batter against stone walls, but finds a way around them, under them, or over them.” Let’s keep finding creative ways to bring fresh voices and fun to our Club.
