Updated: Dec 31, 2021

COLLEGE PARK, Md— UMD Choral Activities presents the 20th annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at 8 p.m. at the University of Maryland’s Memorial Chapel in College Park, Md. The festival is modeled after the historic Christmas Eve tradition presented by King's College of Cambridge, which is broadcast by National Public Radio.

Conductors Kenneth Elpus, Nathan Lofton, Matthew Goinz, and Mark Helms will lead host choirs UMD Treble Choir, UMD Men’s Chorus, and University Chorale, which will all be accompanied by organist Bryan Holten and Terrapin Brass. Guest performers include student-led vocal ensembles Femmes de Chanson and MännerMusik. Readers from the university and community will join the artists, and audience participation is encouraged during performances of traditional Christmas carols. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for senior (62+) tickets, and $10 for students and youth. Call 301-405-2787 or visit http://theclarice.umd.edu for tickets.
