Emmanuel United Methodist Church (11416 Cedar Lane, Beltsville, MD 20705) has several community events coming up this fall. Join them for these wonderful events.
On Sunday, October 6 at 10 am they will hold their annual Blessing of the Animals service. This service is for all pet owners who wish to bring their animals out to be blessed by Pastor King. The service will be held on the hill in front of the church (if it rains, it will move inside to their fellowship hall). If you can’t bring your pet, you can bring a photo of them to have them blessed. Pet blessing services are in honor of Saint Frances of Assisi who loved all of God’s creatures, great and small.
On Saturday, October 19 from 10 am to 2 pm the United Women in Faith will partner with one of Emmanuel’s community partners, The Beltsville Community Cats, for a yard sale and adoption event. Come out and find a bargain, have some lunch and meet some of the wonderful cats and kittens the BCC has for adoption!
On Saturday, October 26 from 8 am to 11 am, Emmanuel’s monthly food distribution will occur. This is for anyone who is in need of free food. Just come to the church and enter the education building on top of the hill. No questions asked.
Finally, Emmanuel’s Community Partner, UpStage Artists, presents it’s fall production of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. This is a fantastic mystery and a great way to kick of November. Show dates are November 1, 2, 8, and 9 at 7:30 pm and November 3 and 10 at 2 pm. Tickets are just $10 and can be purchased at www.upstageartists.com/tickets.
