On The Agenda: January 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! The Citizen's Association will not meet in January.

SNOWSTORM REMINDER TIPS: please park your cars on the side of the street with "EVEN" address numbers. In some neighborhoods like Beltsville Heights or Wicomico Avenue by Beltsville Academy when cars are parked on both sides of the streets during snowstorms the snowplows, fire trucks, and ambulances CANNOT get down the streets. I realize that we are not supposed to park cars on the grass. However, I believe public safety is important, and the streets cannot be cleared if the snowplows cannot get down the streets with cars parked on both sides of the street. If the streets are not cleared, fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars may not be able to respond to emergencies. Please reach out to your neighbors and develop a parking plan that allows your street to be plowed.

Do you know what to do with your trash and recycling on your regularly scheduled collection day? In the event of inclement weather, residents are advised that bulky trash, once-a-week trash, and recycling and yard trim/waste collections may be delayed or suspended due to the road or weather-related conditions. If collection services are postponed, every effort will be made to pick up the missed collections on the following day after that day’s regular collections. Residents are reminded to leave their collection containers at the curbside, and that pickups can occur from 6 am to 8 pm. If pickup is suspended for two days, take your stuff back in and put it back out at your next scheduled pickup day the following week.
