Pack 1031 met on a chilly Saturday in the end of February have our Blue and Gold celebration of the start of Cub Scouts 88 years ago. We did skits and STEM activities and went home with a treat bag and our Pinewood Derby kits!! This month we hope to make kites and help with a clean up in the park.
Our dens are almost done with their rank requirements and now we have fun!! Tigers and Wolf dens are helping a new scout complete his requirements, Bears are learning knife skills and safety, Webelos are working on their Stronger Harder Faster achievement and the Arrow den is ready to bridge over to Scouts BSA in April.
We will be leading the Anacostia Watershed Earth Day cleanup on April 23rd and encourage everyone to sign up to help us clean the Little Paint Branch Park (AWS says all participants will have to attest that they are vaccinated to sign up.)
If you are interested in discovering the fun of Cub Scouts, please contact Regina Halper at Pack1031cubscouting@gmail.com for more information. We are a family scouting unit. We hike, bike, go interesting places and learn about nature and do service. 95% of our scouts earned their rank this year! We are still being cautious, we meet weekly (either virtually or in person in the outdoors), stay arm’s length apart and we keep it fun! Our active den leaders are 100% vaccinated and most of our scouts too!
