Our October 16 meeting featured some familiar country songs, but we had fewer members attending. We’re not sure why. We call about the meetings ahead of time as a reminder and advertise in several local papers, so I hope we can “figure it out.”
Our November 20 meeting will be our 69th anniversary potluck. Members are asked to bring any dish they’d like to share, and we’ll have an anniversary cake for dessert. We’ll also have a “Getting to Know You” segment, with members sharing about their lives in and out of the senior club. It should be very interesting.
Our December 18 meeting will be a “Santa Bingo” event, with prizes and gifts for the winners. Anyone who would like to contribute a nicely wrapped gift to give away is welcome to bring one.
We will still have light refreshments, a 50/50 raffle, and sign-ups for any 2026 trips. You only have to be 55 years old and live in Maryland to join the group. Annual dues are $15.
I’m looking for entertainment or speakers for 2026. If you have suggestions, please call Lois at 301-498-9736. I’ve received some suggestions from members already but would always appreciate more. “Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers.” — Alfred, Lord Tennyson
I believe that seniors have a lot of wisdom to share.
