Scouting For Food

Scouts from Beltsville Troops 1033 and 1031 collected 2500 pounds of food during their annual Scouting For Food Drive!

On Saturday November 9, Boy Scout Troop 1033 and Cub Scout Pack 1031 concluded the 2024 Annual Scouting for Food Drive. The food drive began on November 2 when the scouts placed stickers on the doors of Beltsville and Calverton homes. On Saturday November 9, the scouts picked up food donations left out in front of houses in their designated neighborhoods. The scouts brought the food donations to St Joseph's Church where they weighed in the bags and boxes of food, checked the expiration dates, and sorted the items into different food groups. The Scouting for Food donations help stock the food pantries of St Joseph´s Church and Emanuel Methodist Church for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and into the new year. This year’s Scouting for Food Drive was very successful, bringing in over 2,500 pounds of non-perishable food. Troop 1033 and Pack 1031 would like to send a huge ¨Thank You¨ to the residents of Beltsville and Calverton for once again giving so generously to the Scouting for Food Drive. It is a fun and easy way to help the hungry in the Beltsville area and the scouts look forward to your generosity again next year.
