Update from the Vansville Heights Citizens Association

Greetings Vansville-Beltsville Community,

Vansville Heights is an historic section of Beltsville, MD. The Vansville Heights Citizens Association, Inc. has had many members who over the years have worked diligently to make sure that our community continues to be a family community, a healthy environment for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  This is a piece of Prince George’s County that is truly “gorgeous” – a place where you would want to invite your family and friends to live.  To maintain our community in this manner, it is a constant day to day job meeting with officials who recognize Vansville as a viable and significant part of this county.  Many officials support us because they care and during election time, our turnout rate is 90% - we have a voice! We encourage you to register to vote, research the candidates and cast your vote for the best candidates.

Vansville Heights Citizens Association, Inc. represents Vansville in pertinent civil affairs relating to the community. Vansville advocated long for the Vansville Elementary School.  At that time Mr. Joseph Briscoe was President of the Vansville Heights Citizen Association, Inc.  Vansville advocated for and got the traffic light at Old Baltimore Pike and Ammendale Rd. Vansville and still in the fight  to prevent the Beltsville Fire Station from being closed.

We currently support the Vansville Elementary School, Police Explorers, Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department, and provide clothing through the Beltsville VI Police Department. This is to name a few of our outreach endeavors, and we have supported many other organizations over the years.

We are excited about the work we do, however there’s always a need for others to join us, and to support our outreach endeavors.  We invite you to join our monthly meetings which are held the 2nd Monday of each month 7:00pm -8:00pm (except July & August). All meetings are held via Conference Call.

We look forward to hearing from you and particularly joining our monthly call to share new ideas and to provide a greater service to our community.

Mr. John “JD” Perkins, President, Mrs. Fannie Minor, Vice President, Mrs. Eleanor Holt, Treasurer,

Mrs. Loveleen “Dee” Perkins, Special Project/Secretary, Mr. Joseph Briscoe, President Emeritus
